  Amesbury Open Studios

takes place on Saturday and Sunday, featuring about 70 artists displaying and selling their artwork. Visit their studios, learn about their process, and purchase one-of-a-kind items.  The entire downtown Market Square will be alive with shopping, dining, history, art and culture.  The City Hall exhibition “Transitions” is setup in the front-hall gallery, and there will be many artists set up in the main auditorium, demonstrating and selling their art.  A free trolley will take you within walking distance of the studios.  http://bit.ly/2Npt9oc

Want a more traditional holiday fair experience?  Head to the Boston Christmas Festival at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  It’s the largest arts and crafts festival in New England! Calling all Super Heroes and Super Hero Wannabes! It’s the North Shore Super Hero Expo on Sunday from 11:30-2:00 at the Knights of Columbus on Lynnfield Street in Lynn.   Kids can dress as their favorite hero, there will be contests, trivia games, super hero training, crafts, swag bags and more!  http://bit.ly/2PRAv5E


Opera Anyone?  That’s this Sunday’s presentation at the Cabot Theater in Beverly at 3:00.  The annual exploration of gems from the operatic stage will feature Arias, Overtures and Intermezzi from operas by Mozart, Rossini, Puccini, Verdi and many more, performed by the Symphony by the Sea.  http://symphonybythesea.org/

The Symphony and Chamber Music not your style?  How about a little Pink Floyd?  How about a laser show?  Check it out - Laser Floyd: The Wall at the Hayden Planetarium at the Museum of Science in Boston.  This 18+ show weaves Pink Floyd's classic 1979 epic about personal struggle into one of the most popular laser shows ever produced.  Friday and Saturday evenings.  https://www.mos.org/

 Veterans Day Events

:

North Andover - there will be a Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, November 11th, 2019 at 10:15 am. The parade starts at First and Main Plaza, followed by a ceremony immediately at the end of the parade at Patriots Memorial Park.

Andover - there will be three brief ceremonies for Veterans Day on Monday, followed by a luncheon at 1:00 pm at the Ballardvale United Church, 23 Clark Road, at 1:00 p.m. The ceremonies will be held at: West Parish Cemetery at 10:00 am, at Spring Grove Cemetery at 11:00 am and at Ballardvale Green at 12:00 pm. 

Merrimack College - Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Merrimack College is inviting local veterans to a ceremony and hockey game (against Northeastern) on Friday, Nov. 8 at 6:00 pm. Contact Joe Gonthier a t978/284-3230, or gonthierj@merrimack.edu.
